Our expanding team is seeking Symbian Software Developers to join them. Key responsibilities are to contribute to project development through:
• Specifying, designing, implementing and testing new software components
• Creating or contributing to estimates for software tasks
• Taking ownership of a subset of project tasks
• Tracking progress of committed tasks
• Ensuring tasks complete to schedule
• Proactively build relationships with technical peers
• Identifying improvements to processes and working practices and push changes through to implementation
• Working with technical peers to ensure project success and share and expand your knowledge
Essential Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical/software engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years programming experience using Symbian OS
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience with C++
• Solid Object Oriented Design experience at system and component level
• Familiarity with software engineering project life cycles
Desirable Experience:
• Series 60, UIQ development experience
• Knowledge of wireless network carriers development and test practices
• Telecommunications background preferred-familiarity with networking and wireless protocols
Experience in one or more of the following areas is an asset
• Graphics or multimedia frameworks
• Personal information management
• Networking and wireless protocols such as CDMA, GSM, WiFi, or Bluetooth
• Unicode, Internationalization, or SQL
• RTOS or embedded system development
