Sr. Software Engineer/Symbian OS - A minimum of a Secret clearance is required. United States citizenship is required for this position.
Our client has the leading market positions in business aviation and aircraft services, land and amphibious combat systems, mission-critical information systems and technologies, and shipbuilding and marine systems. The company is also a leading supplier of sophisticated defense systems to the United States.
Overview:
Conducts or participates in the research, design and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms as well as enhancements, modifications and corrections to existing software. Codes, tests, integrates and documents software solutions.
This a challenging position with numerous opportunities for growth and leadership within the organization for an experienced software engineer. This fast-paced environment focuses on developing customized solutions for various mobile and handheld platforms. Individuals with a strong software engineering background with experience on Symbian OS and/or other mobile devices and PDAs such as Windows CE, Pocket PC 2003, and Palm are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will have the following education/experience:
• Minimum Education: BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS. MS preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in software development.
Excellent problem solving and debugging skills with little or no guidance.
• Experience with Symbian OS is preferred.
• Experience with Windows CE, Pocket PC 2003, Palm and/or Linux operating systems for mobile or handheld devices.
• Knowledge of GSM, CDMA, Wi-fi, 802.11 a/b/g, and Bluetooth are desirable.
• Proficient in C++ and OOD/OOA.
• Background in embedded systems and telecommunications.
